Dental exams and routine dental checkups are very important and help take control of your Dental health. Its best to have a complete check up on a regular basis, even when you do not have any dental problems !

Why Get a Dental Exam?

Dental exams give us the opportunity to evaluate your mouth, current methods of dental care ,and provide suggestions for future care .Plus protect you by reducing complications such as cavities and gum disease. They also allow us to detect problems early so they can be fixed quickly and easily.

How Often Should You Get a Dental Exam?

Dental exams should generally take place every six months. However, consult with our team to decide how often you should be examined. We may suggest that you visit more frequently based on factors such as smoking, frequency of cavities and genetic susceptibility to tooth and root decay as well as gum disease.

Our Dental Cleaning Includes:

Oral Hygiene Assessment

The hygienist will start by reviewing your medical history with you to make sure there are no medical conditions that could influence your treatment. The next step is a head and neck assessment, followed by your tongue, gums, teeth and other areas of your mouth. Any areas of concern will then be referred to your dentist or physician.

Periodontal Debridement

The hygienist begins by removing plaque and calculus build-up. This can be done using hand instruments or a vibrating ultrasonic instrument.

Polishing and Stain Removal

Following the scaling, some of your teeth are polished to remove any remaining stains as needed. This is done with polishing paste and a polishing cup.

Fluoride Treatment and Desensitization

Fluoride rinse is used to strengthen teeth and can decrease the cause of demineralization of the hard tooth enamel. There are also many other agents that can be used to desensitize them.
